FOREVER 21 | Honest Review & Clothing Haul

So this isn't the first time I've ordered from Forever 21... but I've seen their company go through so many changes since my first purchase 10 years ago and figured it was time to write a current review. (Scroll all the way to the bottom if you just want to see the items I purchased).

Ordering/Shipping Process
I feel like their website is pretty easy to navigate. I like that you can favorite items to a wishlist so you can see if they go on sale. I also like that they have a "style gram" section where they show Instagram pictures so you can see how others style their clothing.

I usually shop their site by selecting a specific category (tank tops, skirts, boots, etc) then sort everything from low to high price. I find it's easier to go through their website using this method because they have SOOO many items it can get overwhelming to sort through everything if you don't narrow it down to a specific category.

My items normally arrive in about a week. They usually offer free shipping on orders over $50, so I'll wait until I want enough items to get free shipping. They also do free ship promos or free shipping with a $21 purchase pretty frequently, too.

Returns/Exchanges
Forever 21 FINALLY changed their return policy. You used to only get store credit and it had to be returned in 21 days. Now they'll refund you back to your method of payment and you have 30 days to return all non-final sale items (30 days from ship date if ordering online).

If you have a return from an online order try to return it to a store and not through the mail, because they don't offer free return shipping (you're responsible for the costs). I also feel like in-store is easier because you get your money back faster and don't have to worry about tracking the return package.

Quality
I feel like in the past couple years Forever 21 has improved their quality. I still try to stay away from their items with sequins or a lot of beading (because every item I've gotten like that in the past has fallen apart after 1-2 wears) but I love their basics!

Also, this season I've been loving their faux fur coats. Most of the ones I've ordered/felt in-store are extremely soft. Only one that I ordered didn't fit right. All the others were a decent price and good quality. The only con was that most needed to be dry-cleaned, so that's another added cost you have to consider.

Sizing
Forever 21 has sizes for kids, women, men, and plus size. I mainly order items in a size small from the women's section (extra small if they have it) but most of the time they only have small as an option. Their "Contemporary" line runs a bit larger so normally the items from that line don't fit me (unless it's supposed to fit baggy).

I feel like their sizing isn't always that consistent between items. Some dresses will run really large and some tops will fit super small, while others in the same size are baggy. I try to stick to their size chart but I feel like since they have so many items it's not too consistent. Sometimes I'll even order clothing in two different sizes then return the one that doesn't fit. I think that's easier then trying to do an exchange for a different size.

Customer Service
The only time I've tried to contact Forever 21 customer service was when my sister and I both ordered necklaces and they looked nothing like the image online. The image online made it look like a small chain and what arrived was a huge chain link necklace (think Flavor Flav status). I went to the store and showed the manager and even she agreed it didn't look like the image online but said there was nothing she could do (this was back during their previous return policy, however jewelry is still final sale as of today)! I tried calling their customer service number and they said they couldn't do anything either. Honestly after this experience I stopped shopping at Forever 21 and didn't purchase anything from them for almost 2 years until they updated their quality and returns policy.

Also, I prefer to shop online instead of going in store because the employees at my location aren't always that friendly. Plus, there's so many items crammed together  in the store I feel like I can hardly ever find the same items I've viewed online.

Overall Thoughts

Forever 21's new return policy is definitely a huge improvement. Also I feel like the quality has been improved, at least the item's I've purchased seem to be a better quality then they used to be. I'm glad I started purchasing from them again and hope they continue to improve.

Everything purchased by me.

LUPSONA | Honest Review & Clothing Haul

Click here to watch my YouTube review + haul

Lupsona reached out to me to do a try-on haul and I was excited because I've seen a lot of my favorite fashion bloggers/grammars wearing their clothing. As you might know, what you see on Instagram isn't always the same as when you receive it, so I'm always cautious when ordering from sites who are online based and ALWAYS check reviews beforehand.

Shipping
One great thing about Lupsona is that they offer free worldwide shipping! As someone who hates to pay for shipping I love this. The one con to this is that I felt the shipping took a long time (I'm in the United States). It came from China and took 5 weeks from the time I got the tracking number to when it arrived. If you need an item for a specific event make sure you place your order ahead of time. I found this to be similar to Zaful's shipping, which on average also takes a few weeks to get to customers in the US. This will vary based on what country you're ordering to.

Returns/Exchanges
To return items they say you need to contact them within 30 days, describe the issue, and attach an image of the problem. They will pay for shipping if the problem is a quality issue or if they sent you an incorrect item, but if you ordered the wrong size or no longer want the item you're responsible for the return shipping. Before shipping anything back to them it needs to be approved by their customer service team.

Quality/Sizing
I was honestly impressed by the quality. I've gotten items in the past from other sites based out of China and the quality isn't always the best, but I was surprised by the items I chose from Lupsona

When trying a new brand I like to try a broad range of items to really get a feel for their fit and quality standards (I don't just get all tops). I ended up getting two necklaces, two bodysuits, one dress, a bralette, and two tops.
The jewelry was beautiful! It seemed to be made well and no rhinestones were missing, which to me is impressive, especially considering how many rhinestones were on the necklace I got.

White Hollow Out Lace Deep V Long Sleeve Bodysuit Top

The two bodysuits were great as well, the only thing is they didn't fit me quite right. Both were the same size, however the white one was really tight and the black one was a bit big on me. If you get the black one I suggest sizing down and for the white one sizing up. Quality wise both didn't have any flaws and looked exactly like their images online.
V Neck Eyelash Lace Bodysuit
One of the most impressive items was the dress! I love satin material, plus it had a side split and plunging front. It was made out of a thick material (not see through) and the size small fit perfectly.
Silky Blush Maxi Party Dress
The bralette was also one of my favorite items. It's see through so if you want to wear it out (or have it peeking out under clothing and don't want anything to show) just stick some nude padding inside it like I did in my photos. You still maintain the same look while having extra coverage.

Finally, the tops. Sheer tops are really popular on Instagram and fashion blogs this season. Especially when paired with a strappy or lacy bralette underneath. The embroidered one was made well and I think it looks cute when tied in a knot. The other sheer one I got was black with some velvet stars. I loved the ruffle trim on the stars one and found that this top had more stretch to it.
Stars Sheer Mesh Crop Top
Overall Experience
Lupsona definitely impressed me. Although not all items fit me how I'd like, the products looked exactly the same as what's being advertised online. Plus the quality was better than I expected!
If you're looking for clothing that's in-style, while not spending a ton of money, check them out. Just make sure you account for the shipping time frame as it can take a little while for items to reach you.

Trying Instagram Famous Teatox SkinnyMint | Review

I've been using the SkinnyMint 28 Day Ultimate Teatox for the past few weeks. It's a tea detox that consists of a morning and night time tea formulated to boost and cleanse. I've seen a lot of tea detoxes on Instagram so I was excited to try this out (I loved their packaging!) and I was interested to see if I actually noticed any changes in my body. I wasn't looking for it to make me loose weight, but was hoping it would help with bloat since I usually bloat A LOT by the end of the day.

There's 2 steps to this Teatox, which includes two teas that are made with natural herbal ingredients. There's a Morning Boost one (which you take each morning) and a Night Cleanse one (which you take every other night).

Morning Boost

The ingredients in the Morning Boost include Green Tea, Yerba Mate, Guarana Fruit, Nettle Leaves, Dandelion, Strawberry, Grapefruit, and Pineapple.

I could definitely taste the green tea in it, which I enjoyed because I love green tea. It also was more fruity tasting, which I prefer over spicy teas. I looked forward to drinking it each morning and tried to take it before I ate breakfast.

I don't normally drink caffeine in the morning and didn't really notice any boost of change in my energy. I still got tired around the same time (late afternoon), and sometimes needed a nap.

I feel like the biggest change I noticed was that it made me feel more full throughout the day and that I wasn't snacking as much. That was a big plus for me since I snack all the time!

Night Cleanse

The ingredients in the Night Cleanse include Ginger Root, Peppermint, Orange Leaves, Licorice Root, Lemon Grass, Hawthorn Berries, Senna Leaves,  and Psyllium Husk. Some of these are natural laxatives so it's recommended to drink this tea right before bed. It takes about 10-12 hours for the natural laxatives to take effect, so I recommend drinking it earlier in the evening if you have plans the next morning, since I found it upset my stomach the first week (this can be a side effect).

To help ease my stomach I started drinking a smaller cup of the Night Cleanse and also didn't let the tea bag soak for as long. After the first week I didn't have any issues with it, so if you have a sensitive stomach I would start off with smaller cups.

I read that some people had problems remembering to take the Night Cleanse only every other night (they said it was hard to remember if they took it the night before) but I didn't have any problems with this. Honestly if I had to take the Night Cleanse every night I feel like my stomach wouldn't like it, so taking it only every other night was perfect.

Tips

  • Make sure that you're letting the tea bag soak for at least 3 minutes so that all the ingredients have time to be released into the water.
  • If you have a sensitive stomach drink a smaller cup of the Night Cleanse tea. It has natural laxatives and I found it made my stomach hurt if I drank too large of a cup or let the tea bag soak for too long.
  • A good time to do a 28 Day Teatox would be the month before a special occasion or big event.

Results/Final Thoughts
I noticed a slight difference in bloating but I also work out regularly and try not to eat out very often so all of that could also contribute to the difference.

The biggest change I noticed was that I wasn't craving snacks throughout the day. My stomach had a "full" feeling. If you're someone who is looking to cut back on snacking I would recommend trying this to see if it helps curb your cravings. Also my decrease in snacking probably helped ease bloat since I wasn't eating as many snacks with sodium!

If your goal is drastic weight loss this alone is not for you. It could help if taken along with a good diet and regular exercise, but I don't think it would give someone who's looking for a big change the desired results if no other changes are made. If you're just looking to cleanse your body and try to decrease bloat then this is geared more towards you.

This also should not be taken for a long period of time. It's a detox, so the company recommends taking a 4-6 week break in between uses. I would only recommend using this about 2-3 times a year and would do so before an event or big occasion (like a wedding) so that it helps with bloating.

I've read other reviews where people complained about the taste but I actually loved the flavors. Both the Morning Boost and Night Cleanse teas tasted good and if you're a fan of green tea I feel like you'd enjoy the flavor.

Overall I'm glad I got to try this out and see the differences in my body! For me, it was more about feeling better than about actual physical changes. Remember that each person will have different results and results will also vary greatly depending on diet and exercise habits. Let me know if you have any other questions!

ZAFUL | Honest Review & Haul

Click here to watch my Zaful Review+Try-On Haul
Zaful recently reached out to me to see if I wanted to do a review of some of their items. I've seen a ton of reviews about them and agreed because I wanted to see for myself how good their quality is.

I've seen a number of good reviews as well as bad ones and read that they also redid their quality within the past year or so and made it better. My sister also placed an order around the same time they contacted me so I will share her experience as well.
Lace Up Faux Suede Mini Skirt
Ordering/Shipping Process
I didn't order through their site, I sent them links of items I liked and depending on what was in stock they put together a package and sent it to me. The shipping for that took about a week and a half.

I felt that their website was easy to navigate. You can sort by what type of item you are looking for and also narrow your results by entering your price range, size, style, etc... I also like that you can sort everything from low to high price or high to low price. I find it easier to go through websites when this option is available.

My sister ordered through their website. She found the website easy to checkout from. What they seem to do is ship out items depending on when they come in stock. They do not send everything out in one package, so if you order more than one item it could come in multiple shipments. Her first bikini that arrived took about a week and a half. She received all her items within 3 weeks.

I've seen others say that shipping can take up to a month.
Off The Shoulder Bell Sleeve Crop

Returns/Exchanges
One thing that they don't do is offer free returns or exchanges. If you want to make a return or exchange you need to contact them within 30 days of receiving the item.

For US customers, they will provide a prepaid shipping label, which is nice, however this shipping label will be deducted from your final refund amount. All return shipping fees will be at your expense.

Caged Bandage Bikini in Gray
Quality
I decided to try a number of different items from them in order to get a better feel of overall quality. All together I tried out 1 bodysuit, 1 skirt, 6 bikinis, 1 one piece suit, and 2 tops.

The quality was a lot better then I thought it would be. I liked the swimsuits more than similar suits I had recently tried on at Forever 21. They fit me better and were well lined. Only one bikini bottom was super small. It was the same size as the others I ordered but for some reason was really tight.

One bikini that my sister got was sewn funny. The cups were not sewn symmetrically (see pic below). After contacting Zaful they told her they could resend the item or refund her money.
Cups not sewn evenly
The bodysuit was a tad large (my fault for ordering a medium) and had a small hole near the stitching, but the material was super soft and I liked the design of it (it was a multi-way bodysuit).

The skirt was also really cute but a bit loose on me (I got the smallest size they offered which was a small). I was really impressed with the material on this one. It was faux suede and thick, with a zipper in the back for closure.

I've been really into off the shoulder tops for the spring/summer and got two crop tops, a black one and a yellow one with bell sleeves. Out of the two my favorite is the black one. It was a stretchy material and some reviews on the site said the sleeves were too tight but I didn't find it uncomfortable or too constricting. The yellow one was also really nice but will definitely need to be steamed or ironed before each wear.

One thing that I noticed was that not all the items are made by Zaful. The black crop top I really liked had a tag that said made in LA and the skirt also had a tag from a different company. All the rest of the items I got had Zaful tags on them.

I would compare the quality and price point of their items to clothing from Forever 21, BooHoo, Pretty Little Thing, and H&M.
Off The Shoulder Crop Top
Sizing
When I was researching this site I saw a lot of people mention that since it's an Asia based website the sizing is really small and to order up. Previous reviewers said that even though there's a sizing chart the clothing they got was still super small. I'm not sure if these reviews are from before or after Zaful redid their quality, but I followed the provided size chart and found most of my items fit my correctly.

They also provide reviews of the items directly on the product's page so you can see if one item tends to run small. I saw multiple reviews on one bikini that it ran small, so I ordered it in a size medium and it fit. For all my other suits I ordered a size small and they all fit with the exception of one bottom.

The tops also seemed to fit true to size and the skirt was just a bit looser than I would like (but I got the smallest size they carried).

If you order from them I would recommend following the sizing chart they provide. Do not size up. For reference I am a size 2-4 dress, 32 B, 25-26 waist, normally wear a size XS-S and I got their smallest size (size small) in almost every item.

Sales/Promotions
All the sales and promos I've seen them do are for about 10% off. They also have a number of items on sale and the prices are pretty cheap.

To know about their sales or promos check out their social media or sign up for updates. You can also check their website where sales and the promo code will be listed at the top. My sister ordered when they had a 10% off sale going on.

Off The Shoulder Crop Top Black Frill
Customer Service
We contacted customer service when my sister's bikini top was sewn unevenly. They replied quickly and after sending pictures provided her with a refund for the item.

Overall Thoughts

I wasn't sure what to expect because of all the mixed reviews I had seen in the past but I was really impressed with the quality of their clothing. Yes, there are some hit and miss items, but the majority of what I selected was cute and well-made. For the price point and quality I would compare it to Forever 21 and BooHoo.

A con of ordering from Zaful would be the wait time that it takes for items to arrive, as well as items not arriving all in one package. If you are planning on wearing the items on a trip, you need to make sure that you order far enough in advance so that they have time to arrive.

A good thing about ordering from Zaful is that items are affordable and trendy. They have a really broad range of items and offer a great selection.

Make sure to check Zaful out if you're looking for cute clothing for the upcoming spring/summer months!

Items I got were sent to me for review. My sister purchased everything herself. All opinions are my own.

FASHION NOVA | Honest Review

WATCH MY YOUTUBE REVIEW + TRY ON

Glistening Jeans
I've ordered four different times from Fashion Nova. They offer inexpensive clothing that's also in style and on trend. I see a lot of celebrities (Kylie Jenner, Khloe Kardashain) and other Instagram famous models promoting their clothing and I've been wanting to order from them for awhile. The only thing stopping me from placing an order was not knowing exactly what size I would be... and with their return policy not being great I didn't want to risk getting the wrong sizes. My sister placed an order around the holidays so I waited for her stuff to come so I could try it on and see how it fit.

Also if you are considering ordering please make sure you read my "Customer Service (pros and cons)" section to hear about all the issues I've had with Fashion Nova.
Glistening Jeans Medium Wash
Ordering/Shipping Process
The ordering process was simple. Fashion Nova uses a checkout that looks almost exactly the same as Kylie Cosmetic's checkout. If you have a promo code you enter it on the first page that it directs you to after you hit "checkout." Some sites I've used before make the promo/gift card spot difficult to find but I didn't have issues with theirs.

One con I had was that while they advertise having "free 2 day shipping on all U.S. orders $75 & up," I never received my package in 2 days. Each time I've ordered (and when my sister ordered) it took 3-4 days of it being in shipment (this DOES NOT including processing time). So it actually took about a week for my stuff to get to me (for reference they ship from California and I live in Oregon).

In reality it takes longer then 2 days to arrive because of the 24 hour processing time you must allow, and their shipping takes 2 to 3 days from the date it is shipped out. Not from when you placed your order.

So what this means is that if I place an order on Sunday, it's not going to arrive Tuesday. If you go read the shipping information of their website you'll see it says domestic shipping is 2-3 days. So they are just using the 2-day shipping banners to catch your attention. While some packages might arrive in 2 days my order (and everyone else I've talked to who's ordered) has never had it arrive this quickly.

THEN... you have to account for processing time. This is also listed in the shipping section of their website and says that 2 day shipping does not include processing time which can take an additional 24 hours if the order isn't placed over a holiday or weekend (holidays and weekends will take longer to process). So this means placing an order Sunday will process for a day and ship out late Monday or Tuesday.

Then it takes 2-3 days from the ship out date to get to you. This 2-3 days is not guaranteed and it can sometimes take longer. Two of my packages each had one day of processing then took an additional 3 days of being in shipment. Another package I ordered was in processing for a day then took four days to get to me because of weather issues.

So if you see the 2-day shipping banner and are hoping to get your items in time for the weekend don't forget to take into consideration processing time and that the 2-3 day shipping time frame doesn't go into effect until they actually ship it out! I've seen some people get angry in their Instagram comment section because they wanted items for that weekend and it didn't arrive until the following week.

Also one last thing about their shipping... the last time I ordered they used the wrong shipping box (they had paid for a smaller one but shipped it in a larger one), so I had to drive 20 minutes to the post office and pay the difference otherwise the post office wouldn't release my package. Fashion Nova did refund me the difference quickly, but it was just an added hassle.
Wanderlust Set
Returns/Exchanges
One thing that kept me from ordering from them for so long was their return policy. I don't live near their locations so I wouldn't be able to return in store and my only option would be to pay to ship the items back. They do not offer free return shipping.

Since they only have a few locations in California I was really iffy about ordering since I wasn't sure what size to get (their sizing chart and website are not helpful). They advertise "easy returns" but honestly, to me easy returns is when free return shipping is included in your order. NOT when you have to pay to ship it back yourself... personally, I feel this is a difficult return policy due to the fact that you have to pay return postage yourself AND you only get store credit back. Also, if you return an online purchase to a store you can only get credit to use in store, it cannot be used online.

They also don't offer exchanges because items are in high demand so you either have to wait for your store credit to purchase your item, or place a new order. This also means if you don't buy enough to get free shipping you'll have to pay for shipping again.

But with their bad return policy what does that mean, for me as a customer, if they accidentally sent me an incorrect item? I actually had this happen. I ordered a size small jacket and got a medium. Upon contacting them I was told to ship it back (at my own expense that would be reimbursed up to $10) then they would give me store credit which I could use to repurchase. Yes they actually wanted me to PAY MYSELF to ship it back. Excuse me, but if you send the wrong size you should provide a return shipping label. Also my item was out of stock so could not be repurchased, and even if I could repurchase they only provided me with the discount code I had used to originally purchase it. I asked about getting free shipping (since I had already spent enough to get free shipping the first time I ordered it) and was never given anything to get free shipping.

(UPDATE: They gave me a giftcard for $6 to get free shipping, but this was after I sent a couple emails asking about why I would need to pay for shipping again).
Glistening Jeans Medium Wash

Quality
I was really impressed with the quality of their clothing. I made sure I read A LOT of the reviews on each item before I ordered.

Fashion Nova is really well known for their jeans and I really liked the pairs I bought. Only one didn't work out for me (I got a size 1 but it was really big in the crotch area) while all the other jeans I got in a 1 fit perfectly. Their jeans are also long and will fit someone with longer legs (longer jeans were something I've always struggled to find at other stores). My favorite jeans from them are the Glistening jeans because they have a ton of stretch! I also really liked their Seek and Destroy jeans which had a more normal denim feel (a lot less stretch) with a good length.

A lot of Instagram models also get the Wanderlust Set. It's more of a lounge set and the reviews said it was a really thick material. I ordered it and didn't feel it was that thick, also the band flipped around easily when I wore it since it's not securely sewn to the outside. This bugged me. Also, the material snags easily so you have to be careful when wearing it. It's great for pictures and lounging but I definitely felt I had to be cautious when wearing it.

I got a couple dresses and liked them, but also feel that they're dresses I could get from a number of other sites. If you are going to order anything from Fashion Nova I would recommend their jeans.
Seek and Destroy Jeans
Sizing
Sizing was another major thing that kept me from ordering from Fashion Nova. First of all their sizing chart was hard for me to use because I'm right in-between sizes so I could have gone either way. Also, it says the models wear anything from a 1 to a 5, so without knowing the model stats how am I supposed to determine my size??

When I saw people ask on social media what size models are wearing/their stats the standard reply Fashion Nova gave was that the models are 5'6-5'11 and wear a size S-M (or 1, 3 or 5) depending on their body shape... This wasn't helpful because I was trying to decide between a 1 or 3 and without the model's measurements I had no idea what to order.

To improve their website I highly suggest providing model stats on each pic (height, bust, waist, etc) and the size the model is wearing. A lot of other sites already do this and it makes it a lot easier to compare the model stats to your own when determining what size to get. When Fashion Nova gives a vague, very broad answer it gives little help in narrowing down the right size to get.
Also, the pictures they use for their website all have models with really tiny waists and a big butt and boobs. The waists literally look photo shopped on a lot of the denim images because of how tiny they are. When I heard the models wore a size 1-3 (without their actual measurements listed) I first thought there was no way I'd fit a size 1 because my waist isn't as tiny as theirs look. However, if I had gotten a size 3 the jeans would definitely not have fit.

It was funny because one day Fashion Nova posted a picture on Instagram of a model with a "normal" size waist (not as tiny) and a majority of the comments were requesting them to use that model more because it was a lot easier to see how clothing would look on those of use who don't have a super tiny waist.

For size reference I am 5'7," 32 B, 26 waist and wear a size XS in Fashion Nova dresses and a 1 in their denim. The top I got in a size S because reviews said it ran small, and the size S fit perfect. The Wanderlust set I got a S legging and it fit but I could have gone down to an XS for a tighter fit.

Sales/Promotions
Check out their Instagram account for promotions. They often run sales/promo codes and will extend them for a couple days even if it says "one day only." If there's something you really want don't wait too long to order because their popular items go out of stock quickly. Although, one great thing about their site is that if an item goes out of stock in your size you can enter your email to be notified when it's restocked.

Also, a lot of beauty gurus and bloggers have promo codes offering 10-20% off your order. So google for these codes or search on Instagram and YouTube for people hauling Fashion Nova. If they've collaborated with Fashion Nova there will most likely be a promo code in their description/caption.
Olive Glistening Jeans
Customer Service (plus pros and cons)
I tried to contact customer service the morning of the fourth day when my package had still not arrived. It had shown no movement for a couple days, when I tried to track it, so I was wondering if they could see movement on their end. My items showed up later that night. I never heard back from them, most likely because they saw it got delivered and felt a response wasn't necessary.

I also was in contact with customer service when my item was being held at the post office. They used the incorrect shipping box and therefore did not pay the proper postage. I had to drive to the post office (there and back for me took over 40 mins) and pay the difference. They did refund me quickly when I provided pictures of the receipt but I did not feel like they were very apologetic. If this were my company I would have offered a coupon or something for the extra hassle.

LASTLY, I noticed that the jean jacket I had ordered was a size medium, not a small like I had ordered. I contacted them and was told to ship back the item (they will refund up to $10 shipping but you must pay up front and send receipts) THEN they will give a store credit for me to repurchase. Only issue is that I purchased during a 30% off sale and in a large order that qualified for free shipping. I have gone back and forth with customer service at least 3 times trying to explain this to them but for some reason they keep only providing me with a 30% off code and no free shipping. Why would I pay for $6 shipping on a item you incorrectly sent me? Shipping should be free since I originally spent enough and it was not my fault I was sent the incorrect item. Also I would have to send back the jacket and wait for store credit to be processed before placing my order for the correct item. (See update above, they sent me a $6 gift card to get free shipping after I sent an email asking why would I have to pay for shipping all over again. FYI: this was my third email to them mentioning how I had gotten free shipping originally and wanted free shipping for the mistake item).

This is all something that I feel is bad business practice because if you send out an incorrect item it should be corrected immediately. They are treating the situation as if I ordered an incorrect size and want to exchange it, not that they made a mistake (on the exact order they did not pay proper postage for I might add). I actually might just keep the oversize jacket since I don't want to keep trying to deal with their customer service. Also returning the jacket then waiting for the item to come back in stock is a risk, since you never know if or when it'll be restocked.

SO... while their jeans are great, I feel it's a risk ordering from them, because if they mess up your order somehow, you will feel like you are jumping through hoops to get it corrected. I wish the entire process was easier.

Overall

I was really impressed with the quality of their jeans and recommend those the most. I struggled to find jeans long enough at other stores (I'd usually need to order jeans in a size long or x-long) but at Fashion Nova the length was perfect!

Also, they have a lot of on trend dresses and clothing styles as well, but I feel like you can find a lot of similar styles at other stores with better return policies in case something doesn't work out.

To improve their site I really wish they would include model stats and the exact size they're wearing in each product description, instead of listing/giving a broad answer in the size guide chart. I feel like this would lead to a lot more people ordering and less returns.

Also an improvement to the return policy would be nice! Provide free return shipping or at least give the customer their money back and not just store credit. If they did this I'd order a lot more because I wouldn't have to worry as much about something not working out and losing money from having to send it back or exchange it.

Overall my actual ordering experience wasn't the best, it was only good if they made no mistakes in my order. Otherwise it became a huge hassle to deal with and I found myself wishing I was dealing with a company who had better policies/customer service in place.

Dior Star vs. Dior Forever | Foundation Review

I own both the Dior Star and Dior Forever foundations and since they look extremely similar I thought I'd make a review on how they compare. For reference I am shade 021 but shade 031 when I'm tan.

Design
In store the Dior Star and Dior Forever foundations look almost the same. Unlike their Airflash Spray foundation (which looks like a mini spray-paint can) and their Air Serum (which has a dropper applicator) both the Star and Forever foundations come in matching rectangular glass bottles with a pump top and black lid.

One difference (besides reading the name on the bottle) is that the bottle for the Star foundation is clear while the Forever foundation bottle is more frosted. I feel that they did this because the Star foundation has a dewy finish while the Forever one is matte and they were using the frosted texture to remind you of the matte finish. I like this because when I have both in my makeup drawer it's easy to tell them apart at a glance.

My Favorite
The first one I purchased was the Star foundation and I loved it, but that was when I was living in Ohio and wasn't in a humid climate. Since moving to Florida I discovered the Forever foundation, which helps keep me a lot less oily due to the matte finish and this is the foundation I have currently been using daily.

Coverage
I feel that both provide the same amount of initial coverage, I would say medium-full depending on how much you use. I also like that it didn't go on cakey. The main difference I noticed was the finish and how oily I would look throughout the day.

I have combination skin and get super dry areas (usually around my eyes or upper hairline) but also get pretty oily in my t-zone. When living in a dry climate, I didn't notice that much excess oil when using the Star foundation (which gives the more dewy finish) but after moving to a very humid climate I definitely noticed I was getting a lot more oily with the Star foundation and it wasn't staying on as well in my T-zone due to the excess oil I was producing. I switched to the Forever foundation and noticed an immediate decrease in oiliness the first time I wore it.

Which should you get?
-Dry Skin
My suggestion is that if you have dry skin try the Dior Star foundation since it's described as a brightening foundation and doesn't dry completely matte. It will also help give you that dewy look dry skin can sometimes lack while still giving you a good amount of coverage.

-Oily Skin
If you have oily skin try the Dior Forever foundation since it has a non-oily texture. It dries very matte and the product description claims it has a 16 hour wear (I will say it does stay on for a long time, longest I wore it was 14 hours and it still looked really good)!

-Combination Skin
For those with combination skin I think it depends a lot on the climate you're living in and how your skin reacts to that climate. For those in a humid climate and getting pretty oily I'd try out the Dior Forever foundation first, since it will help keep you matte for a long time while still providing a very even coverage. For those in a dryer climate (and not wanting a super matte finish) try out the Star foundation. I know some people love the matte look but sometimes it can look too matte and it can look more natural to use the Star to get that slightly dewy skin finish while evening your skin tone.

Similarities
  • Both foundations cost $50 (which is comparable to other high-end competitors.)
  • Lightweight (Star one feels a little lighter) but you can still get a medium-full coverage from both.
  • Bottle size is 1 oz.
  • Formula stays on for a long time (Forever: 16 hour wear).
  • You don't need to use a huge amount of product to get full coverage (I use 1 to 1 and a 1/2 pumps).
  • Both foundations come in a range that contains mostly yellow toned shades, so if you're more neutral it's harder to find a perfect match.

Differences
  • The Star foundation has SPF 30, the Forever foundation has SPF 35.
  • Star foundation is a dewy finish, Forever foundation is matte.
  • Star brightens, evens skin tone, and reduces redness.
  • Forever evens, corrects skin, and gives a very matte finish.
I would highly recommend this foundation!
