Baked Macaroni and Cheese
After trying out different Macaroni and Cheese recipes I finally found the one that tasted the best! I've altered the original recipe to fit my tastes. |
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups macaroni (uncooked)
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
- cayenne pepper
- onion powder
- 1 cup smoked cheddar cheese (will be in specialty cheese section of the grocery store).
- 1 cup medium cheddar
- 1 cup colby and monteray jack
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook macaroni to al dente. Drain and set to the side.
- In a bowl stir together the heavy cream, milk, medium cheddar, and colby & monteray jack cheese blend.
- Add salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, and onion powder (taste the mixture until you have reached desired taste).
- Whisk the eggs in a separate bowl then add to the mixture in the large bowl.
- Spray a baking dish (I use a 9x9) with non-stick spray or butter.
- Stir to combine the cooked macaroni with the mixture already in the large bowl.
- Pour the mixture into the baking dish.
- Top with the smoked cheddar cheese and a little more of the colby & monteray jack.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes. Don't worry if it's not firm, it will firm up as it cools.
- Let cool for 10-15 minutes.

ANGL Store Review
One of my favorite stores to shop at in Southern California. They currently have 39 stores in Southern California and 6 in Las Vegas.
The style is trendy and affordable with a higher quality then Forever21 clothing, but is not super high end . They have lots of clothing that's perfect for everyday wear or "going out" and new styles are constantly coming in.
Currently they have been been doing the promotion of having an additional 30% off sale and promo items in store. Also 10% off $50, 15% off $100, and 20% off $150. If you actually take the time to look through the sale sections you can find some really good deals (sweaters, rompers and skirts for $10, tops for $5, etc...).
Their online site does not have sales or promos as great as the ones offered by their actual locations. For example, the stores have a "last chance" section where items that are the last one left are 25% off. Items in the sale and "last chance" racks change very often.
I have been to 9 of their locations in Southern California and below are my reviews on the individual stores.
Fashion Island Mall (Newport Beach): Store is located towards the center of the Fashion Island shopping mall. The store seems well maintained and they have one of the larger sale sections compared to other locations. Parking is free.
Irvine Spectrum Center (Irvine): Located at a great outdoor mall. Sale section is medium sized and the store is decent sized. Store can get crowded and busy due to the amount of people that shop at this mall. Free parking in parking structures.
Manhattan Village Mall (Manhattan Beach): Located in a smaller shopping mall. Store size was smaller than average. Barely any sale items. Also "last chance" items were hidden in the back of the dressing room when I visited this location. Parking is free in the mall parking lot.
Santa Monica Place (Santa Monica): Location is right next to the 3rd Street Promenade. The store is decent sized but they only have one small sale rack and one "last chance" rack. Parking is free in the attached parking structure for the first 90 mins.
South Bay Galleria (Redondo Beach): Store looks small at first but extends back father. Sale items are spaced throughout the second and third portions of the store so you have to look in multiple sections for their deals. Also sale section was only 50% off here and was 65% at a different location for the same items. Items were adequately stocked and maintained. Free parking in the mall parking lot.
Westside Pavilion (Los Angeles): Small sale section, "last chance" rack can have good items depending on which day you go. Store is well set up and dressing rooms are nicely maintained. Parking is free for the first 3 hours.
Westfield (Culver City): My FAVORITE location. Free parking in the mall lots. Largest sale section out of all the other location's I've visited (the only one that can compare is the Fashion Island location). Constantly changing "last chance" rack. Clean store (you can tell the manager keeps it really organized) and the multiple times I've been here it's never been overly crowded.
Westfield (Century City): Located at an outdoor shopping mall. No sale section that I've ever seen the multiple times I've visted this location. Only a small "last chance" rack that I've never actually found anything I've liked at. Also the downside to this location is that you have to pay $1 for the first hour of parking in the mall parking structure (no free period).
Victoria Gardens (Rancho Cucamonga): Located at an outdoor mall. Free parking structures or metered parking on the street. Sale section and last chance area were decent, but I didn't find anything I liked.
The Shoppes at The Palazzo (Las Vegas): Located in a mall on the Las Vegas strip. Super busy/crowded outside the mall but mall was pretty empty when I went. Store seemed pretty small and sale section had barely any items. I also didn't feel like the store had that great of a selection of clothing to chose from, which surprised me considering their location and foot traffic outside the mall. Store was semi-clean.
