I finally received my order of the Mini Light Up Vanity Mirror by Original Beauty Box! I had preordered it over a month ago waiting for
the white to be restocked (it also comes in black).
I was actually really impressed with this mirror once I
opened the box. It comes in three parts, the base, light up mirror, and
magnifying mirror. You have to snap the base on and so far I’m not sure if
there’s any way to take the base off once it’s snapped on. I tried but it
seemed to be on pretty tight.
The light up mirror I had before this one was an oval one
that needed to be plugged into the wall with one magnifying side and a normal
mirror side. The one by Original Beauty Box is battery operated which makes it really
easy to travel with and use anywhere. It also comes with a mini magnifying
mirror that can suction onto the main mirror.
This mirror requires 4 AA batteries. At first it was really
hard to open the spot where the batteries go. I almost broke a nail. I had to
slide a ruler under the latch to get it open.
Once the batteries are in you just flick the switch on the
back to turn it on. To get the lights to actually come on you need to touch the
circle on the front of the mirror. I like this set up because then you can turn
the switch off when you want to make sure it doesn’t accidentally get turned on,
like if you’re packing it.
There’s a small space on the base of the mirror that you can use to store stuff, like beauty blenders or jewelry which is nice.
This mirror also rotates so no matter how you're sitting you'll get you a good angle of your face.
The lights on this are also way better than on my old
mirror. They are brighter—and the lights don’t get hot which is good because
sometimes my old mirror would get really hot when I was using it.
This mirror is $34 on the Original Beauty Box website, but if you wait for a coupon code you can get it for a little cheaper. Overall I thought
it was worth it because I really liked the design and how portable it is!

UPDATE: The batteries finally died after daily use for 6 and a half months! Also there were at least 6 days where I accidentally left the lights on all day so I would assume it would last longer if I hadn't done that. Also wanted to mention that over time the brightness of the lights diminishes, so if you feel like it isn't giving off as much light as when you first got it just replace the batteries!
